Happy Holidays! - December 13, 2011

Hello friends:

We wish you all a happy holiday season and a healthy new year!

Oh and a couple things McMule related ;)

Friday December 16th:
---------------------
We're excited to be involved in the genesis of a new intimate concert venue in NYC. Founded

by two alumni of the legendary Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ. (some of the best shows we

ever attended were at the Capitol) Live At Studio 201 is the most unique venue for intimate

concerts in NYC. Seating capacity...200...no seat farther than 16 feet from the stage!

McMule in August - August 3, 2011

Welcome to August,

This looks to be shaping up into a fine month.  Hope it's your best one yet.  We've got a few festivals to play this month, we love festivals, so this really is looking like a good August already. Our first fest, this Saturday, August 6, will be the 3rd annual Folk n' Frisbee fest in New Berlin, NY. Hosted by the Same Blood Folk Band.  Lots of great music from many great bands, good times and... frisbee golf... serious frisbee golf.  On August 13th, we head into Laurelton, PA for the 6th annual Bear's Picnic. This event will host many great bands over four days featuring the likes of 7 Walkers (w/ Bill Kruetzmann (Grateful Dead), George Porter Jr (Meters), Papa Mali and Matt Hubbard), New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Everyone Orchestra and many more.   On August 21st, McMule is at the Warwick Valley Winery celebrating the music (and influences) of the Grateful Dead at the annual Grateful Dead fest with several other bands.

Come on out... Get it right, do it nice.

McMule News for Summer 2011 - July, 2011

In case you were planning on joining us at Banjo Jim's in NYC on 7/14, a scheduling snafu has made it necessary to postpone that gig.  We will return, and you'll know when.  If your plans are already made, go ahead, Banjo Jim's is a nice little place at 9th St and Ave C with a revolving lineup of great music all night long.

A little further down the line, McMule rolls into August playing the 3rd annual folk n' frisbee fest in New Berlin, NY with a bunch of local music hot shots and hundreds of our closest friends on August 6th.  On August 13th, we can be found in Laurelton, PA at the 6th annual Bear's Picnic which will host many great bands over four days featuring the likes of 7 Walkers (Bill Kruetzmann (Grateful Dead), George Porter Jr (Meters), Papa Mali and Matt Hubbard), New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Everyone Orchestra, Great American Taxi and more.   On August 21st, we'll be at the Warwick Valley Winery celebrating the music (and influences) of the Grateful Dead at the annual Grateful Dead fest with several other bands.

Until our paths cross... stay cool, have fun, think worldly thoughts.

In a remarkable career now entering its fifth decade, Cornell Dupree has played on literally thousands of sessions and worked with a staggering list of artists that includes James Brown, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Donny Hathaway, Elvin Jones, B.B. King, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Herbie Mann, Jimmy Smith, and many more. He is still actively performing and shows no signs of slowing down.
